Design for the Internet is not only about visual appeal. Easy navigation and readability are both important elements in any effective site. Web design is also about functionality.

For example, visitors to an e-commerce site deserve an easy browse and buy experience, while the web retailer’s role can be eased by the inclusion of an intuitive stock update and order administration system.

 

The web designer’s job is to understand and balance these different considerations to produce a site that surpasses the goals set at the start of the project.
